Un bombazo de lo que fue, lo que es, y lo que podría ser

In this project, I engage with the Puerto Rican dance tradition of bomba as a means of artistic, cultural, and political expression.

Since the most recent election, I have felt the urgent need to resist. Resistance for me is rooted in love and family, the affirmation of my cultural identity, and acts of anticolonial expression. Through the performance of bomba and the activation of handmade textiles (costumes and flags), I aim to situate my body as a site in which to manifest these ideas corporeally.
